POTTY TRAINING - CRATE

The easiest way to train a dog to pee or poop in the right place is by watching them
doing it right and then praising and rewarding them. The big difficulty of this is to see
the moment your dog is doing and reward immediately. Praise or scold your dog when
you find anything in the right, or the wrong place won’t make sense for them, the
reward needs to be precise.
When your dog is confined to their crate, they will naturally hold their bowels and
bladder. This is because dogs do not want to soil the place they are sleeping or eating
and because they are not moving around and their bladder and bowels aren’t being
stimulated.
The ideal is to take a few days to train your dog and keep the training followed
throughout the day. But I know we don't always manage to dedicate so much time, so
you’ll keep your dog confined to PlayPen whenever you can't be focused on his
training. Their playpen should have a bed at one end and a weewee pad at the other
end. It is essential to keep in mind that more dedication will result in a shorter training
period.
After a while, your dog will learn to save their pee and poop for the one place where he
is rewarded and receive treats. Then you don’t need to keep confining your dog to a
crate.
It's really worthwhile reinforcing toilet training every day, even after years and years.
Whenever possible, you should go with your dog to their toilet to reward him.
Let’s start working!
